SKIN RESURFACING
eMatrix SUBLATIVE Rejuvenation is an ideal treatment for Acne Scars, Fine Wrinkles, Poor Skin Texture, Tone and Enlarged Pores. It is a non-laser and non-light−based treatment that utilizes Radio Frequency energy delivered to the dermis where it can produce significant deep tissue improvements with very minimal impact on the epidermis. The RF energy generates fractional deep dermal heating in the region of the electrode matrix to induce skin injury, thus eliciting a wound healing response. This treatment stimulates collagen and elastin production in the deep layers of the skin resulting in a tighter, smoother, more refined and brighter appearance to areas treated.
Treatments usually take 30 minutes and are spaced approximately 5 weeks apart. During treatment, many patients feel a warm, prickly sensation as energy enters their skin. After treatment a pink or red “sunburn” appearance and feeling is also common. Typical treatments are 4 – 6 weeks apart. The total number of required treatment sessions depends on the skin condition of the patient.
PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
3 weeks before treatment no tanning and sunless tanners
2-3 days before treatment discontinue using any irritant topical agents
On the day of treatment no lotion, makeup, perfume, powder or bath/shower oil should be used on the areas to be treated
If you are taking Accutane, or have taken it in the last 6 months please notify office ahead of time
If you are taking any antibiotics, please notify office ahead of time as some make your skin very sensitive to treatment
Avoid treatment while pregnant
POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Wait 24 hours before washing face, then only use a gentle cleanser-wash treated area with hands not a wash cloth.
After you wash your face apply a moisturizer if necessary, sunblock with SPF of 45 or higher
Tiny scabs will usually form 24-72 hours post-treatment and may remain for several days. The scabs should not be touched or scratched even if they itch, and should be allowed to shed off naturally.
During the first two (2) days following treatment, care should be taken to prevent trauma to the treated site: avoid hot baths, massage, irritating skincare products or exfoliants, etc. The skin should be kept clean to avoid contamination or infection; any mechanical or thermal damage to the area must be avoided.
