TREATMENTS FOR SKIN IRREGULARITIES
Cherry Angiomas
Cherry angiomas are made up of clusters of capillaries at the surface of the skin forming a small round dome, which may be flat topped. They range in color from bright red to purple.
Skin Tags
Skin tags are small, benign (non-cancerous) growths that typically appear as soft, skin-colored bumps. They are commonly found in areas where skin folds or rubs together, such as: Neck, Armpits, Groin, Eyelids, and Under breasts.
Pre-Treatment Instructions
Four weeks before treatment and throughout the course of treatment patients are advised to:
No tanning and sunless tanners 2 weeks prior
On the day of treatment no lotion, makeup, perfume and deodorant should be used on the areas to be treated
If you are taking Accutane, or have taken it in the last 6 months please notify office ahead of time
If you are taking any antibiotics, please notify office ahead of time as some make your skin very sensitive to treatment
Avoid laser hair removal for 2 weeks prior
Avoid while pregnant or have a history of Melasma
Milia
Milia, also called a milk spot or an oil seed, is a keratin-filled cyst. They are most commonly found on the face, particularly the cheeks, nose, and eyelids.
Fibromas
A fibroma is a benign (non-cancerous) tumor that grows from fibrous connective tissue. It can appear on any part of the body, including the face. May have a smooth or slightly irregular surface
Post Treatment Instructions
No tanning for 4 weeks after treatment, SPF 45 or higher
NO other treatments on treatment area for 30 days
No exercising for the rest of the day after treatment
No lotion, makeup, perfume and deodorant should be used on the areas treated for 24 hours.
No steam room or very hot shower for 24hrs
No swimming in chlorine water until crusting has healed.
After treatment, it is common to feel irritation as well as redness. Some crusting may form on the area treated. Avoid scratching the treated area. Crusting will resolve within 1-2 weeks of treatment. Pat dry instead of rubbing to prevent removal of crust
Seborrheic Keratosis
Seborrheic keratosis is a common, benign (non-cancerous) skin growth that appears as raised, waxy, and often dark patches on the skin. A lot of people mistake them for sun spots.
Spider Veins on Face
Spider veins, also known medically as telangiectasia, are small, visible blood vessels that appear as thin red, blue, or purple lines, often on the cheeks and nose, usually caused by factors like sun exposure, aging, genetics, and sometimes rosacea.
